We currently have a role with a leading bank as the manager for their Manager of provision analytics. The role will be responsible for monitoring and analysing credit losses in relation to the banks retail portfolio. The client are looking for an individual with a strong background of developing, delivering and supporting sophisticated risk models, tools and methodologies. Deliverables To accurately forecast the bad debt charges for the Retail Portfolios through-out the economic cycle based on stressed and non-stressed economic scenarios To ensure provisions are calculated and posted accurately for all Retail Portfolios To accurately report the position with respect to provisions to all stakeholders in a timely manner Seek projects and opportunities by engaging across the business to ensure that the impairment charge is optimised. To develop and manage action plans addressing issues with provisions as they arise. To monitor trends in key input metrics and parameters to the provision calculation and understand and communicate the implications of same. Document processes and procedures for provision inputs and controls and seek to continually improve efficiency and effectiveness of provision forecasts and reporting. Experience: Min 3 years practical experience of developing, delivering and supporting sophisticated risk models, tools and methodologies in a business environment. Well developed understanding of the concepts of risk and finance preferably gained through experience within the business or financial markets area of a financial institution. Ability to plan own work and prioritise tasks Proven analytical and problem solving skills Technical Knowledge: Highly numerate. Mathematical/statistical degree level preferred Understand the importance, use and value of complex statistical and quantitative methods Advanced PC skills e.g. Excel, Access External environment awareness of key regulatory, legal, business and economic developments to assess the potential impact on the credit loss performance.
