We currently have an opportunity for a Compliance & Risk Manager with a leading bank. The role will be working with the banks commercial products. The client is looking for a candidate with at least 5 years experience within a compliance function within commercial banking. Overview of key duties · Act as custodian of Commercial Product’s risk profile. · Develop and promote a risk aware culture and improve the understanding of risk and control requirements across Commercial Products. · On-going review of all processes to identify risks, gaps, controls and mitigating actions (RACAs) within Commercial Products and drive to completion. · Devise and implement testing mechanisms (ACE) to ensure the effectiveness of the internal controls framework. · Support Commercial Products in the day-to-day management of risk and compliance. Challenge outputs from the businesses assessments of their risks (and associated mitigation and action plans). · Ensure the adequate assessment, mitigation and monitoring of risks associated with material business changes. · Escalate identified risks in accordance with internal governance and controls. Manage Risk Reporting on behalf of the Products Team including maintenance of a risk register and production of information for quarterly certifications. · Co-ordinate Self Certification Process (SCP) for Commercial Products and secure sign-off from Head of Commercial Products. · Maintain an up-to-date and accurate suite of Risk documentation · Develop an in-depth understanding of all relevant policies in the Group Policy Framework; act as a subject matter expert on operational risk policies for Commercial Products colleagues and leverage best practice in peer organisations to further develop the operational risk management expertise in Commercial Products. · Represent Commercial Products on Working Groups with a view to understanding new/enhanced policy and implications for Commercial Products. Work with the Commercial Product Team to implement requirements. · Work with Commercial Products on issue identification and articulation and oversee adequacy and effectiveness of action plans and provide governance guidance. Responsibility for providing oversight, guidance, and appropriate challenge on all risk and operational matters within the Products Team. · Manage interfaces with other risk and control functions. Establish effective working relationships with C&CS partners (including C&CS Risk & Compliance, Strategy & Infrastructure, Group Internal Audit, Regulatory Risk, Financial Crime & Security etc) to implement an effective end-to-end process. · Assist Senior Management with matters of regulatory risk adherence where required. · Identify, understand and help customers by competently and effectively dealing with customers’ changing needs.
