We currently have a Director Level role open for the Retail Credit department of a leading bank. The client is looking for a candidate with significant experience within retail credit. This will be a strategic role with a high level of responsibility for who the department moves forward. This is a permanent role for which the client will offer an excellent salary and benefits package. Overview of the role The development and communication of the Bank Group Credit Culture in the Retail division including ensuring that Credit policies are consistent with the banks Credit policy and comply with all regulatory requirements and are clearly communicated to all relevant staff Optimise Retail Credit quality through ensuring best practice/processes in Credit Sanctioning, Management and Control Through working closely with colleagues in Retail ensure excellent understanding of business issues/requirements, that Credit structures/processes are maintained to deliver a high quality service to customer facing units and that reliable communication channels ensure issues are identified, escalated as appropriate and addressed promptly. Lead and motivate a team that ensures a performance excellence culture is evident throughout Retail Credit and is proactively committed to ongoing improvement. Accountability for forecasts and performance against forecasts on the Impairments line on the P&L and for RWAs/Credit capital requirements in the Balance Sheet Development of stress scenarios and testing providing insight to a range of possible outcomes and thereby avoiding surprises Agree targets for cash flow and recovery within operational teams in Collections & Recoveries and lead changes to policy, strategy and resourcing as necessary Ensure adequate governance for changes in Credit Policy and Appetite Develop Basel and Operational Models and maintain these, thereby ensuring quality and timely delivery of automated decisions, Impairment Costs, RWA calculations and Regulatory returns. Ensure appropriate MI systems are in place to monitor all aspects of performance and to facilitate briefing of appropriate contacts Chief Operations Officer, CEO Retail Banking etc Maintain sound business relationships with key contacts/business users/influencers and ensure flow of relevant communication to maintain confidence in effectiveness of Retail Credit key contacts include Chief Operations Officer, Chief Credit Officer, Senior Retail Executives and Retail and Group Credit Lead and develop the management team to ensure maintenance of appropriate skills levels and career development. Support Chief Credit Officer and play a proactive role as part of Credit & Market Risk Senior Management team in achieving overall Credit & Market Risk business objectives.
