Insurance /Reinsurance Accountants are required for a leading name based in Dublin City Centre. Responsibilities include:
• To act as senior supervisor to a portfolio of re/insurance companies and to contribute to the wider responsibilities of reinsurance supervision;In particular, this will involve :
• Review and consideration of content and format of prudential returns required to underpin that supervision;
• Planning and scheduling of visits to Reinsurance companies
• Developing templates for the conduct of inspections
• Evaluation of systems of Governance
• Evaluation of re/insurance underwriting and reserving techniques;
• Evaluation of asset allocation plans, investment and liquidity strategies;
• Reporting on findings of inspections
• Carrying out such other functions as may be determined by the Head of Insurance Supervision. Requirements :
• Knowledge of reporting requirements for the re/insurance industry in Ireland;
• Experience of conducting inspections/reviews in financial service firms;
• Knowledge of the wider re/insurance and regulatory framework, including international regimes and standards, and the emerging Solvency II proposals in Europe.
• Education to honours Degree level or higher in a discipline such as Business, Law, Finance, Economics, Maths or Actuarial Studies. Professional qualifications in Insurance, Law, Accounting, Finance, and Actuarial.
