We currently have an opportunity for a Fraud specialist with a leading bank. This is to fulfil a 2 year contract role. The client is looking for a candidate with previous experience of Fraud/AML within banking with approximately 3-5 years experience in this area. Purpose This role exists to provide an integrated approach to fraud investigation by, receiving examining, registering and dealing with incident reports (taking into account precedent). The role also encompasses the operational analysis and the implementation of damage-limitation measures and/or other measures (reputational and/or financial) Is responsible for maintaining specific areas of attention/specialism with regard to bank products and participates in inter-bank working groups. Holds workshops for the local branches with regard to fraud prevention. The execution of operational investigations into (possible) criminal investigations and violations of the personal, organisational and relation integrity within the Bank and provides advice to line management in respect of the results of the investigation Provides advise in relation to the implementation of organisational and/or disciplinary measures and the damage-limitation measures and advice (reputation and/or financial). Responsibilities The role operates within the scope of precedents and works within a centrally established general framework which has been set out by the guidelines and policies in respect of the Police reporting policy, protocol internal investigations, privacy protocol etc etc. The role reports bi-weekly to the Risk Director regarding the progress/status of the ongoing investigations. The execution of desk research with regard to customer due diligence (CDD) investigations and asset tracing and the provision of CDD advice to the relevant parties. The role offers recommendations in respect of the ongoing investigations and advice to the management. It is the roles responsibility to inform management regarding ongoing issues when appropriate. Identify and implement best practice standards and solution. Role advises management both reactively and proactively with regard to his/her expertise Role decides which information originating from the operational investigations needs to be inputted into the incident registration system. Role reports the current fraud status to the Security Officer according to the Security Incident Handling procedure. Role represents when necessary the bank with regard to operational cases to the Justice department, Police and other relevant security agencies. Role initiates and maintains network relationships with the relevant governmental bodies, colleague third-party Financial institutions and within the Banking Group. Investigation and analysis Is responsible for the intake of incident reports and deals with these within the operational guidelines/precedents. Carries out operational investigation in respect of (possible) violations of the personal, organisational or relational integrity. Takes, where necessary, measures to limit the loss/damage (both material and immaterial) and trace lost assets. Registers incident reports correctly, completely and timely. Produces an investigation report which provides the relevant management with enough information in order to make decisions relating to disciplinary/and/or organisational measures. Produces analyses at operational level. Indentify and implement best practice standards and solutions Functions with regard to the provision of information as an intermediary between the bank and Police/Justice Department and other Security agencies. Signals and identifies the risks which arise from incidents when applicable and uses them proactively to protect the organisation. Handle potentially confrontational situations. Maintains professionalism and balance between the risk to the bank and the customer Advice Advises the line management and members of staff in the bank with regards to the handling of incidents on the basis of precedents. Advises line management with regards to disciplinary/organisational measures as a result of an operational investigation into personal, organisational or relational integrity violations. Advises the line management and members of staff with regard to the handling of standard information disclosure requests from Police etc. Advises the line management, whether asked or not, with regards to all matters relating to the fraud related issues. Networking and representation Operates as intermediary between the bank and the Garda and colleagues from Risk departments and from third party financial institutions. Maintains contact with the Police and colleague fraud investigation departments of Financial institutions. Maintains (in) formal (international) network of contacts within the bank group. Provides fraud prevention (or other associated subject matters) presentations for the banks branches and relevant Head Office departments.
