Senior Dealer –Structured business Leading Financial Services Company require a senior dealer to report to a team head on the Structured Business Desk which is responsible for servicing the wholesale structured product needs of all Group businesses & third party Financial Institutions. In addition to structuring investment products linked to equities, interest rates, inflation, foreign exchange etc. the desk is involved in structuring liability hedges on a range of underlyings. The successful applicant will join an established team at a senior level, and will be involved in all aspects of the generation and pricing of innovative new products, and subsequent market launches. Responsibilities include:
• Manage and grow Treasury opportunities from a portfolio of highly demanding Customers.
• Proactive design, origination and hedging of equity and interest linked structured products (on both sides of the balance sheet) for distribution through Group channels and third parties.
• Developing and leveraging off relationships with our colleagues in Treasury (Compliance, Legal, Settlements, Finance, Credit & IT), external wholesale counterparties and investment banks to identify and maximise potential revenue opportunities.
• Covering all stages of the product construction process, the successful candidate will price & hedge the resulting market risk generated from products created – both internally with our Proprietary Trading Desks, and externally with Investment Banks as appropriate
• Work with Team heads to develop a strategy to move our corporate business to the next level of success in terms of its activities and geographic reach.
• Share ownership of processes, practices and dealing culture that prevent significant control, credit, audit, regulatory or corporate governance failures. Requirements:
• A minimum of 3 years experience in a front-office role, with experience of product generation or product pricing.
• A sound understanding of the working of the financial markets.
• An ability to identify business opportunities and to drive the creation and wholesale marketing of suitable products to our customer base.
• Excellent numerical / mathematical ability.
• Capacity for creative thinking / flair for problem solving & flexibility.
• Previous experience of structuring investment and liability products. A track record in the sale of financial products, while not essential, would be advantageous.
