Description:
A leading Financial Services company is looking to recruit Trustee Manager for its growing operations in Dublin City Centre.

Reporting to: Managing Director

The primary function of the Trustee is to review the management and operation of Irish and non-Irish domiciled investment fund structures to ensure that they are being managed in accordance with the relevant fund documentation, applicable Regulations, and the interests of investors. The Trustee now wishes to recruit a Manager whose main objective shall be to oversee the discharge of these and related functions by the Trustee teams and provide assistance to the Trustee in meeting its obligations under applicable Regulations.

Desirable Skills: Responsibilities

•To oversee and provide assistance in the discharge of the functions outlined above by helping to ensure that there is adequate resource coverage for all funds and that all day to day controls and procedures are carried out effectively and efficiently by staff.


•Helping to plan and prioritise the workload of the Trustee teams ensuring there is coverage for all funds and procedures including the allocation of new funds and the transfer of funds among existing staff.


•Assist in the planning for the in conversion of new business including, where necessary, staff recruitment, appointing a client service team, review new fund documentation and review new funds/structures for issues, particularly of an operational nature.


•Ensure that the structured approach to duties adopted in the Trustee function is carried out in a professional, effective and timely manner for all business allocated to the unit.


•Plan and review on a regular basis with a view to ensuring the tasks are completed within the deadlines set liaising with all parties internal and external as appropriate.


•Plan for and carry out annual appraisals and quarterly one-to-one meetings if applicable.


•Maintain good working relationships with client personnel, including dealing with queries in a positive and proactive manner.


•Ensure that periodic (every 6-8 weeks) meetings with the Trustee team Managers take place to discuss current operational issues and to enquire into the efficiency of the operation of the Trustee teams.


•Motivate staff to meet their deadlines and to take on additional tasks and increase their knowledge of the funds industry. Schedule staff training where necessary.


•Deputise for the Trustee Team Manager, in his/her absence.


•Maintain a good working knowledge of Regulations and fund industry developments on all matters pertaining to the Company and its functions.


•Ensure Trustee reports for board / client meetings are prepared and distributed in a timely manner.


•Ensure logs for monthly Trustee Management meetings are prepared and updated in a timely manner and to follow up any action points.


•Ensure the structured approach adopted in the Trustee Department is carried out in a professional, efficient and timely manner for all business allocated to the unit.


•Maintain minutes of meetings and follow up on any action points as required.


•Deal with client queries as they arise.


•Prepare and update logs for monthly Trustee Management meetings and to follow up any action points as part of weekly meeting with the Manager(s) and/or staff.


•Plan, arrange and assist in the scheduling and preparation of client board packs for client board meetings. Ensure the Trustee report is prepared and sent out per the deadlines requested.

Experience: Qualifications

Essential skills:

•Working knowledge of Regulatory provisions applicable to fund service providers with particular emphasis on Depositary requirements.


•Analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues, taking into account the interests of both clients and investors. The successful candidate will be willing to take-on a wide range of issues and provide valuable input as required.


•Ability to communicate and manage external relationships with clients to a strong professional standard. Strong interpersonal skills (written and verbal) are required.


•Ability to lead a team and develop/mentor staff, as required


•Attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve legal, accounting and technical issues arising in relation to the management of investment funds.


•Ability to work in teams as well as on own initiative. The candidate should be proactive, have a focused attitude towards work and an ability to consistently meet deadlines.


•Essential knowledge:


•Prior Trustee/Custody experience is highly desirable.


•Financial Services Regulatory experience desirable.


•At least 5 years work experience either within the investment funds industry or in an associated auditing or legal environment.


•Third level degree and/or relevant professional qualification desirable
