Managing Director - Depository - Dublin My client is one of the largest and most successful banking groups in the world. A Depository Branch has been established and approved in Dublin with key staff in place. Job Description • Strategic management of Trustee and Custody functions of the Branch • Ensure the development of the Branch in line with the Bank’s goals. • Work closely with group related companies in delivering a high quality service to clients. • Ensure SLD/A’s in this area are adhered to. • Build a strong and professional team with a performance ethos. • Act as point of contact for the CBI, ensuring all financial and regulatory returns (including ONR Returns) are made within the prescribed time frame. • In this regard the Branch Manager will be responsible for any ONR Returns required by the Banking Supervision Team and by the Investment Firms and Fund Supervision Division. • Signing off on all ONR Returns. • Manage the day to day operations of the Branch, together with the management of staff. • Develop and ensure relevant training is made available to the Branch staff. • Through motivation ensure key staff are retained. • Act as main point of contact for the clients of the Branch. • Participate in the new business acceptance committee providing updates on regulatory changes. • Work closely with the Sales and Relationship Management teams with respect to pricing policy and product positioning. • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and counterparties. Skills and qualifications • c.15-20 years’ experience in financial services with the following skills and expertise. The candidate should be a well-established figure in the industry. Excellent knowledge of the Depositary/Custody/ trustee function as defined by EU regulations, in particular as they pertain to the Irish and Luxembourg markets. • High level of Risk and Control knowledge. • Balances service/quality and cost/timing/risk. • Ideally, previously approved under the Fitness and Probity Regime of the Central Bank of Ireland. • Takes a view across the business, and does not take a ‘silo’ approach. • High-level analytical skills dedicated to precision with a focus on continuous improvement of the team. • Strong personality; influencing/negotiating/communicating skills with the capability to interact with Senior Management of the Bank, in all aspects of the business (e.g. identify and propose better alternatives for doing things). • Good listener. • Fosters loyalty and team spirit. Encourages team learning, sharing and mutual support. • Capable of being a project leader and/or to intervene and add significant value on projects. • High level of IT and PC software skills. • Good writing/reporting skills. |
