Job Title: Financial Reporting Specialist x 5

The role:

Responsibilities:

• Supervise, coordinate, review and/or prepare annual, semi-annual and quarterly financial statements
• Prepare and/or supervise fund expense performance.
• Review fund expenses and accruals.
• Review fund expense invoice authorizations.
• Report and communicate statistical and performance data to fund management and industry publications.
• Serve as an escalation point in assisting team members and reports with problem solving and issue resolution; Utilize best judgment to escalate issues to senior managers as appropriate.
• Maintain a working familiarity with applicable laws, regulations and interpretation of governing financial statements and disclosure, including the Investment Company Act of 1940, the Internal Revenue Code, GAAP, and other applicable requirements.
• Build a detailed personal knowledge of GAAP to assist Investment Managers in the range of disclosures permissible under GAAP which best fit the ethos of the Investment Manager and challenging the Auditors as required thereby adding value to the process from an Investment Manager perspective
• Build a detailed personal knowledge of Regulations (e.g. AIFMD, UCITs, and CFTC) to assist Investment Managers in the range of disclosures permissible under the legislation which best fit the ethos of the Investment Manager
• Ensure all Investment Manager and Auditor queries on the financial statements are resolved on a timely basis
• Research queries on GAAP and Regulations and prepare a summary memo to disseminate the knowledge to HedgeServ employees and Clients
• Develop template financial statements for the NAV department utilising both the Financial Reporting tool and also using a third party bespoke financial reporting application

Experience: • Qualified accountant (preferable ACA / ACCA)
• Experience of US GAAP or IFRS would be an advantage but is not essential
• Advanced level of IT skills notably MS office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio)
• At least two years experience within the financial reporting department of a Fund Administrator, with direct experience preparing financial statements for funds.
• Ideally suited to someone qualified or almost qualified.
• Up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP & FRS 102) and Regulations (UCITS/AIFMD) that impact the preparation of financial statements for funds.
• Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise.
• Track record of working in line with timetables and meeting strict deadlines.
Required Education: Education:
• You will have an Accounting, Finance, Legal or Business Degree. Min. 2.2 honors degree
• Third level qualification in Accounting related discipline. Min 2.2
