Payroll Specialist
The Role:
My client is one of the world’s leading financial institutions and an excellent opportunity has opened for an experienced Payroll Specialist. Responsible for the day-to-day production, and completion of assigned regional payrolls, perform back up support, and responsible for assigned payrolls, you may have to review work such as data input and manual calculations of other team members. Do you have experience researching and resolving complex or sensitive payroll and / or tax withholding, deposit or reporting related issues? If so, then this is the role for you! You will also have the opportunity to perform some vendor management’s activities and may preform system/ application testing and updates.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for improving and maintaining existing procedures, controls and practices, to ensure compliance with regional polices, tax and other payroll-related laws and regulations.
• Preforms daily payroll activities ensuring timely, accurate and compliant payroll production of assigned payrolls including complex and year-end activities
• Researches and monitors regulatory and legislative changes impacting payroll areas of responsibility ensure ongoing compliance
• Review payroll adjustments requests to ensure proper authorization and compliance with corporate policies employment tax and other payroll-related laws
• Advise management of appropriate corrective action when an error occurs
• Analyze existing policies
• Respond to payroll enquires from all levels throughout the business to explain pay, adjustments to pay, and impact of policies
• Works directly with vendors and/or reviews payroll system or applications to ensure submitted are correct. May be responsible for system / application testing (e.g, upgrades, tax updates, ect.) May participate in HR system or payroll implementations and other payroll projects and process improvements.
• Prepares and / or monitors payroll tax and general ledger accounts, and works with Finance to reconcile discrepancies
• Process or advice on appropriate accounting transactions to keep accounts in balance.
• Responsible or input review of country / regional metrics for assigned payrolls and / or request management reports.
• Works on projects as requested and learning project management skills
• Serves as a key subject matter expert and may coach / train Analyst and Associate Consultant level team members.
• Represents the department in various meeting.

Required Skills: • Excellent Analytical and problem solving skills
• Knowledge of other areas of Human Resources and Finance, and their impact on payroll production activities
• UK Benefits and pension administration
• Strong UK payroll experienced
• Experienced working with outsourced Payroll Vendors
Experience: • 4years+ payroll experience required (preferably dealing with multiple countries)
• Familiar with ALL aspects of payroll processing including payroll production, reconciliations
• Able to multi-task in a high paced environment
• Attention to detail and work independently
Required Education: Third Level Education
