Job Title: Senior Compliance Officer
Location: Dublin

Description:

Senior Compliance Officer - Financial Markets (FM) and ALM Treasury

Overview

Monitoring, controlling and mitigating: compliance, regulatory, reputational risks.

Compliance Advisory:

Critical analyses to inform Management business decision making

Guidance to both the business and compliance officers in: new activities,

new products, transaction approval and client acceptance committees.

Review of marketing material; ad hoc business queries.

Technical Expertise:

Local Compliance 'subject matter expert' for FM and ALM Treasury business lines and legal entities, covering:

Financial Security / KYC; Market Integrity; Protection of the Interests of

Clients; and Professional Ethics.

Forward looking approach to Compliance Regulation:

Identify, communicate and assess key regulatory developments relating to FM topics.

Risk Management:

Measure, monitor, mitigate and clearly report actual and latent compliance risks.

The Role: Specifics

Policies:

Facilitate the full implementation of relevant Group and activity compliance policies relating to FM; supplement these with local policies where required.

Oversight and Assurance:

Implement and oversee ‘compliance monitoring’ and second level controls for FM activities.

Communication and Reporting:

Responsible for maintaining clear and open communication with key stakeholders, including central FM Compliance.

Compliance Function Development:

Lead and participate in:

(i) The design and implementation of improvement plans for compliance processes and controls.

(ii) Representing the team at relevant meetings or projects.

(iii) Assistance with management of regulatory relationships in Ireland.

Training and Culture:

Create training and awareness programme for staff and Compliance colleagues in order to promote an informed FM compliance culture.

Business Focused:

Provide compliance support and facilitate ad hoc projects.

The Individual: Overview

Significant experience; acquired as:

Or as a FM Compliance Officer,

Or as a General Auditor.

Analytical / Inquisitive / Assertive:

Ability to accurately perform critical compliance analyses.

Ability and mindset to question assumptions.

Strength of mind to challenge management and colleagues.

Professional qualifications:

Graduate studies in Finance, Economics, Law, or equivalent.

Fluent in English; if possible another European language.

Personal characteristics:

Attention to detail, commercial acumen and an ability to communicate complex ideas in plain english.

The Individual Specifics: Experience and Key Skills

Compliance expertise:

Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of major markets regulations, such as MIFID, EMIR, FATCA, DFA.

Proven track record of delivery:

Able to operate with appropriate autonomy, take ownership of key areas of responsibility and meet challenging deadlines.
