Senior Authorisations Specialist

A dynamic, multi-faceted organisation based in Dublin City Centre are seeking a Senior Authorisation Specialist to join their Consumer Protection and Authorisations division. The successful candidate will be providing their technical expertise to conduct the authorisation process of applications and their assessment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist and advise the team in leading the technical assessment of applications for authorisation criteria, developing high quality technical accurate recommendations in respect of those applications to ensure compliance with the relevant regulatory framework and statutory criteria in a timely and efficient manner
• Contribute to devising and ensuring the proper implementation of appropriate and effective authorisation process and procedures and assist the team in a manner that fosters and drives a culture of challenge and continuous improvement
• Monitor developments in the payments and electronic money sectors both nationally and internationally to identify issues, themes and potential risks and to understand the impact on existing authorisation standards or the need to amend such standards
• Provide ongoing mentoring and support to the team and on-boarding of new hires, particularly from a technical sectoral expertise
• Contribute to designing and taking responsibility for implementing the annual team programme including the annual sectoral risk assessment for and ensure delivery of relevant objectives
• Develop and foster good relationships across the organisation to ensure delivery of objectives and represent the organisation in internal and external for a as appropriate
• Contribute to the development of the strategy and operational plans in order to advance the on-going delivery of the organisations mandate
• Support the Head of Division and the Director of Consumer Protection in contributing to the wider development of the organisation and the delivery of the strategy including participating in cross divisional/directorate initiatives from other forum both internally and externally

Key Skills/Qualifications
• Educated to degree level or professional qualification in a relevant field
• 10 years’ + experience working in the payments industry sector
• Significant knowledge and expertise in respect of the payments industry including a deep understanding or legal and regulatory framework
• Strong knowledge of on-going developments in the payments industry
• Experience and understanding of risk management function and processes and principles
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
