Head of Risk & Compliance
A rapidly growing business in the Financial Services market are seeking a Head of Risk and Compliance to join their new Dublin office and to establish the local business. A key component to this role will be change and the successful candidate will need to be results focused with a ‘can-do’ attitude in order to work at an operational level and will address operational issues and regulatory demands.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the business in its application to the CBI for authorisation
• Undertake statutory and regulatory duties of the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) in relation to Anti Money Laundering, Financial Crime and Anti-Terrorism Matters
• Oversight of all compliance, monitoring and regulatory processes and procedures and training documented by appointed providers and ensure they are being implemented robustly
• Identify any changes required to these procedures and processes
• Ownership of local aspects of applicable compliance policies, procedures and training materials
• Ensure regulatory and legal best practice developments are communicated efficiently and appropriately throughout the business
• Ownership of the businesses implementation of local and European regulatory directives
• Provide compliance support in relation to the new business initiatives to the Group Executive team and the Global Head of Risk and Compliance
• Provide support to the General Manager with day to day compliance requirements
• Provide a central point of risk management within the organisation to ensure transparency and accountability of relevant risk owners
• Maintenance of the risk register and risk reporting to the Risk Committee and the Global Head of Risk and Compliance
• Support Internal Audit implementation, execution and reporting
• Work with the executive team and group legal to understand market and regulatory requirements to enable market entry into target jurisdictions
• Take ownership and manage submission of all regulatory reporting and any other compliance reporting
• Evaluate and investigate al internal Suspicious Activity Reports raised in relation to the regulated business and liaising with local authorities where required
• Ensure any requests from local Law Enforcement agencies are dealt with appropriately
Key Skills/Qualifications:
• 10 years’+ relevant experience, with at least 5 years’ experience as MLRO ideally in a payments/financial services company
• Expertise in AML regulations
• Strong knowledge of Ireland’s regulatory regime and experience working with the Central Bank of Ireland
• Experience in stakeholder engagement and management
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
