Trainee Accountant
Our client is a highly successful market leader in the analogue and mixed signal semiconductor space with annual revenues of $2.3 billion. A global company, they design award-winning semiconductors that powers the integration of electronics.
While the emphasis of the role is on month end, they are expecting that the right person will master this and get involved in other cross-functional projects. This is a great opportunity for a driven, ambitious and motivated person who is interested in making a difference.
Responsibilities:
Preparation and posting of accounting journals, including accruals & prepayments for a variety of European entities while adhering to month end reporting deadlines
Completion of routine monthly and quarterly US GAAP based financial accounts
Review monthly intercompany recharges and ensure compliance with various intercompany agreements and internal procedures
Analysis of balance sheet and profit & loss accounts
Responsibilty for the preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations including supporting schedules, in accordance with the reporting timetable
Projecting and monitoring assigned entities monthly cash flow
Responsibility for the preparation of local GAAP based annual financial statements and tax returns
Dealing directly with external auditors and senior stakeholders to ensure on time filing of the financial statements
Preparation of indirect tax returns (including VAT, EC Sales, Intrastats) and other statistical returns for review and filing
Contribution to process improvements within the global accounting team and wider office environment |

| Required Skills: |
Strong accounting skills are essential
Proficiency in using MS Office suite of applications with advanced Excel skills is a desirable requirement
Ability to work on your own initiative but also work well in a team
Occasionally, travel may be required |
| Experience: |
2+ years’ experience (industry related experience desired but not essential)
Experience at either performing an audit or preparing for and answering audit queries is an advantage |
| Required Education: |
Degree in finance, accounting, business or economics
Studying to be a professional accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA |
