Head of Credit Risk
A leading Financial Services company that are growing their Risk function in Ireland are looking for an experienced Head of Credit Risk to join their team in Dublin. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the organisation conducts its activities in a controlled way that benefits the business and its clients while actively mitigating the risks arising from this activity.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage credit risk arising from clients; including approval of client level appetite and facility limits
• Support distressed clients through business support and restructuring situations and impairment provisioning
• Manage the risk profile of the organisations credit portfolio
• Set and manage risk appetite including mandate and scale credit limits for industry, country and product risk and setting target criteria
• Conduct stress tests for both regulatory needs and to inform portfolio decision
• Manage the credit risk arising from derivatives trading and secured financing activity
• Develop, maintain and challenge models to ensure that those risks are measured adequately
• Portfolio and scenario analysis and technical expertise on significant transactions
• Review of credit risk appetite and limits and approve on behalf of the organisation (or recommend to the board)
• Ensure the risk function operates in compliance with the Credit Risk frameworks, Policies and Limits to which it is subject
• Lead the credit risk team and set its agenda, people development strategy and scope
• Be the senior risk contact for all credit risk matters for management and regulators
• Participate with various partners in the development of infrastructure and control framework for credit risk
• Maintain a close regulatory interface with all relevant regulatory bodies and internal partners
Key Skills/Qualifications:
• Track record of leading high performing teams and developing others
• Significant banking, capital markets and financial services industry experience
• Strong understanding of financial and non-financial risk management for financial institutions
• Good knowledge of regulatory requirements and expectations for Credit Risk
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
