ABOUT THE ROLE
As Financial Controller for Longford Forest, you will provide the General Manager and the village management team with a wide range of financial and commercial support and ensure that all finance activity is consistent with corporate policy and guidelines.
Specifically, the role of Financial Controller will include:
- Producing timely and accurate management accounts information and investigating/analysing business information to highlight any areas of opportunity
- Sharing best practice and supporting the management team in reviewing operational efficiency and ensuring project implementation maximises its revenue / profit opportunities
- Taking responsibility for the day to day activities of the village finance team, including identifying training and personal development requirements
In addition to the financial/commercial remit, the role of Financial Controller will also be required to undertake duty manager responsibilities which will include weekend working on a rota basis and being on call overnight. This will include responsibility for ensuring excellent guest service, operational standards, incident management and the general smooth running of the village.
This role will commence in early March 2019 and will require some travel to the UK to undertake training upon commencement.
HOURS OF WORK
You will be contracted to work 160 hours per 4 week period, on a flexible basis. During the pre-opening period it is anticipated that your hours of work will generally be Monday - Friday office hours.
Once the village is operational your working hours may include some weekends, public / bank holidays and during Christmas and/or New Year on a rota basis.

Required Skills: |
ABOUT YOU
Preferably CIMA qualified, although other accounting qualifications will be considered, you will also need to demonstrate:
- Significant management accounts experience within a commercial business whose turnover exceeds €20m
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and competence in the use of other Microsoft software
- Excellent management and communication ability, as well as staff supervisory experience and good influencing skills
- The ability to make sound decisions across a broad range of situations, often under pressure
