Description: |
Department 4.2.1.3 (Management Reporting) is looking for a financial analyst to join its current team of five.
As one of three departments within the Directorate Financial Planning, Budget and Reporting, Management Reporting is responsible for measuring Office-wide financial performance, elaborating suitable cost information, improving cost awareness and training managers, as well as for the dynamic evolution of its reporting facilities and tools.
In the role of financial analyst, you will be the key link between the Principal Directorate (PD) Finance and the business units. You will be responsible for improving financial awareness among business unit managers to increase accountability, and for delivering business insights to PD Finance to improve the quality of financial outputs.
It is intended to hold the interviews in week 50 in Munich.
* after deduction of EPO internal tax and before deduction of staff contributions to the social-security and pension schemes. The salary level depends on experience.

Required Skills: |
Your main responsibilities
- Corporate reporting: delivering financial reports for the President and the supervisory bodies, e.g. the monthly report
- Supporting PD Finance in defining financial and operational KPIs with financial impacts and communicating these KPIs to the business units
- Management reporting: monitoring performance and enforcing KPIs by analysing and challenging results (e.g. plan vs. actual, financial targets and business targets with financial impacts
- Delivering input for PD Finance on reporting (e.g. accruals)
- Helping the business units prepare their plans based on actuals |
Desirable Skills: |
What we expect from you
- A university degree in finance or business administration
- At least five years of experience in management reporting, ideally in a large private organisation and/or international environment
- Ability to work analytically and conceptually, ability to prepare clear and comprehensive documents for management decisions
- Ability to apply different reporting standards such as IFRS and public accounting
- Strong communication skills, fostering transparency and clear understanding with the ability to operate at different levels within the Office
- Highest level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive/confidential information |
Desirable Experience: |
Your qualifications
- Diploma of completed studies at master's level or - in exceptional cases - equivalent professional experience
- Excellent knowledge of one official language (English, French or German) and ability to understand the other two
- Citizenship of one of the member states of the European Patent Organisation
