About my client
My client is a leading, privately owned investment manager with almost $300bn is assets under management with a focus on Hedge, Private Equity, Fixed Income and Equity Funds. In the advent of Brexit, they have recently opened an additional office in Dublin.
They a highly coveted employer, with an excellent reputation in the market not just in terms or service provision, but in their high rates of staff retention coupled with excellent remuneration and benefits.
About the Role
This is a hybrid role focussing on both Operational Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk. Although not essential to have both, it is essential that your background is within one or the other from another Asset Manager, Custodian, Depositary or Banking Instiution. Reporting to a locally based Senior Manager as well as another Senior Manager based in London you’ll work closely and maintain effective dialogue with stakeholders in the operational business across EMEA, contributing to the continued development of the risk management framework, fund oversight, counterparty credit risk model, culture and practices ensuring they remain fit for purpose as the business continues to progress and develop in a regularly changing environment.
You’ll be responsible for scheduling and reporting on risk related requirements which can include tool updates, risk assessments, Corporate Risk changes, findings on risk exposures etc.
You’ll also meet with the Third Party Administrator based in Dublin on a regular basis.
There is a significant opportunity to grow in the position as this will become the Management Company for all of the European offices and subsidiaries.
About You
You will be a hands on Operational or Enterprise Risk practitioner with about 1-2 years’ experience within a risk function, ideally Second Line within Financial Services. Any risk oversight function or background in embedded risk will be considered. You can interpret and communicate complex risk data, execute control reviews and provide reports accurately and on time.
As the office will be small initially (about 10 employees by year end 2019) you’ll need to be a self-starter, astute, confident and ambitious. This is a hire for the longer term. |
