Reports to Director of IPH
Location The role will be based in Dublin 2

Duties and responsibilities:
Financial Management
- Responsible for the accounting system, including the maintenance of systems to account in multiple currencies
- Monitor and manage income and expenditure of the organisation
- Maintain fixed assets register
- Ensure financial controls remain effective
- Ensure implementation of best financial practices in line with statutory and government systems and procedures in both jurisdictions
- Prepare reports as required.
Financial Reporting
- Ensure that all levels of management are provided with the financial and management information required for effective planning and control of the Institute
- Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts
- Prepare quarterly project cost reports and liaise with project managers
- Prepare annual budget and provide analysis
- Review on a regular basis the anticipated costs of projects to monitor performance and ensure adequate finance
- Liaise with external auditors to prepare 2012 audited financial statements.
- Prepare returns of statutory surveys in both jurisdictions
- Prepare taxation returns (PAYE, VAT,) and liaise with auditors on taxation matters.
Cashflow Management
- Ensure effective and efficient cash flow management through the provision of accurate cash forecast and the management of cash resources
- Monitor use of corporate credit cards
- Ensure procurement codes of practice are implemented throughout the organisation
- Ad-hoc accountancy issues.
Human Resources
- Manage payroll for both jurisdictions
- Manage and update HR systems
- Administer pension schemes and other employee benefits
- Contribute to the recruitment and selection of personnel
- Provide advice on policy formulation in regard to HR
- Ensure that HR practices and procedures are in accordance with legislation and relevant codes of practice
- Advise directors and officers of the Institute of Public Health on HR matters for both jurisdictions.
General
- Other activities as may be decided by the Directors from time to time.
