New Business Transitions Manager
Departmental Overall Responsibilities:
The Transition Team is responsible for the successful launch of a new fund from the time the mandate has been signed to the launch date of the fund. Each member of staff on the Transition Team acts as a liaison between the client, various external parties (Lawyers, Auditors and Primebrokers/Custodians) and various departments within the bank (Operations, New Business Team, Trustee, IT, Finance & Legal) to ensure the launch of the fund is carried out smoothly and in a timely manner.
Specific Responsibilities:
•Manage the introduction of New Fund Business (new or existing Funds) into Fund Services Dept
•Co-ordination of the introduction of new business, which involves liasing with internal departments, clients and other fund participants, such as Fund Managers and outgoing Administrator (if applicable), in respect of fund structure and processes, transaction flows, operational elements of fund constituent documents
•Review all drafts of Prospectus & Application Forms & all Fund Documents
•Identify all issues and information gaps
•Advise Legal Services Dept of documentation issues and track resolution of same
•Resolve operational issues with Client
•Escalate any unresolved issues to Head of Transition and the New Business Escalation Group.
•Finalise full operational requirement
•Issue Operational Memo for each new fund
•Brief Fund Services staff on structure and operation of new fund
•Monitor early fund stages in live environment
•Provision of regular management information
•Ensure appropriate and accurate financial reporting where required is conducted on a timely basis.
•Manage changes to existing Funds
•Co-ordination of any changes to existing Funds, which involves liasing with internal departments, clients and other fund participants, such as Fund Managers, in respect of fund structure and processes, transaction flows, operational elements of fund constituent documents
•Highly client orientated with proven problem solving skills
•Possess a structured and determined approach to work
•Display strong project management skills and responsibilities
•Time Management and prioritisation skills
•A willingness to take ownership of problems
•Self-motivated with excellent inter-personal, organisational, and communication skills
•The motivation to increase their own knowledge through training and hands-on experience
•Ability to work with all levels within the company and external clients
•Awareness of the risk/rewards of business analysis
•4-5 years experience in a similar role within the Funds Industry.
