| Description: |
Data Protection Officer – Financial Services, Dublin City Centre
Core Responsibilities
Identify applicable laws and regulations, monitor upstream regulations and develop interpretations of in scope regulation as it applies to Fund Administration
Implement regulatory changes, ensuring compliance with legislation and regulations including the awareness and training of staff and reporting status and concerns to management
Maintain and develop the Regulatory Compliance Framework, ensuring compliance with the framework across all relevant business areas and jurisdictions
Work with the Compliance and Operational Risk Department to ensure Operational and Regulatory Risks are adequately monitored, tested and documented
Conduct regular audits and reviews of data protection processes in the business and oversee implementation of necessary changes
Inform and advise the business about data protection provisions and regulatory matters
Act as the point of contact for supervisory authorities and individual departments within the organization
Escalation of any major issues in the above areas to the CCO |

| Required Skills: |
Have a relevant degree or other third level qualification or relevant professional qualification
Experience in a data protection role or in a compliance role with data protection responsibilities
Have a good understanding of data protection law and regulations in Europe / Ireland - other jurisdiction requirements an advantage
Be able to apply regulation to a business environment and have a good understanding of data protection and compliance risks |
| Experience: |
Possess strong interpersonal and communications skills
Proficient Excel skills and have excellent written and verbal English
Have the ability to work on own initiative, ability to prioritize workloads and deliver to tight timescales
Proven Project Management skills |
