Internal Audit Manager
Dublin City Centre location with 50% Global Travel
Interested in Global travel (USA, Europe, and Middle East & Africa)? Are you a Big 4/Top 10 trained recently qualified accountant (0-3 years PQE)? My client, a leading Irish PLC would like to speak with you!
If you are commercially aware and keen to make an impact on multiple business units across a leading Irish PLC, this role offers excellent exposure to senior management and an opportunity to engage with complex, strategic issues.
This role has a large component of global travel, around 50%, to include offices in Europe, USA, the Middle East and Africa.
An excellent opportunity for a practice trained auditor with a few years PQE in industry or as a first move post-practice for an Assistant Manager / Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES
• To provide assurance that internal controls within the group are effective in minimising risk and exposures to acceptable levels, and to provide recommendations for improvement as appropriate
• To provide assurance on business operations and, as appropriate, recommend feasible ways of improving efficiency, effectiveness and economy of operations
• Maintain and develop knowledge and expertise in internal audit and related theory, practice and developments through relevant professional reading, seminar attendance, training, etc.
• Apply sound judgment in performance of duties
• Exercise discretion and confidentiality in relation to information and matters encountered in the performance of duties
• Evaluate and assess business processes and objectives, determine key controls and risks, assess and rank controls, risks and exposures
• Possess strong understanding of business risks (financial, commercial, operational, compliance) and demonstrate past execution and delivery of an annual group wide risk assessment program
• Design audit tests and prepare audit programmes based on the assessment of controls, risks and exposures. Maximise use of CAAT's to improve the audit process and to increase efficiency
• Manage audit work/investigations to bring the assigned audits to completion within budgeted time
• Manage co-source partners, where assigned
• Develop audit findings, ensure evidence exists to support findings and agree findings and remediation timelines with management
• Draft audit reports and agree management actions and implementation dates
• Document unclosed audit points and follow up audit points to resolution and closure
• Be an ambassador for the Group Internal Audit function, capable of thought leadership, high performance, business partnering and comfortable interacting with Group Executives as needed
