Finance Dublin's editor Ken O'Brien interviews SEC Commissioner Daniel Gallagher on Ireland as an international financial centre.
Commissioner Gallagher was former counsel to Commissioner Paul Atkins, who spoke at the Finance Dublin Global Financial Centres conferences held in Dublin in 2007, 2008 and 2010. Commissioner Gallagher spoke at the conference in 2009 and 2010. See the report on the 2010 conference here.
At the time, Commissioner Atkins' visit to Ireland was the first by an SEC Commissioner since that of then SEC chairman of the newly formed agency, the SEC, in the 1930s, Joseph P. Kennedy, subsequently ambassador to the UK, and father of President John F Kennedy. |
