| Description: |
Senior Depositary Bank Representative
The Depositary Senior Representative will be responsible for performing all tasks associated with the depositary duties, such as safekeeping & asset supervision, cash flow monitoring and oversight duties. The Depositary Senior Representative will also be responsible for completing the annual due diligence that is performed of the funds and of the management companies of the funds. This representative will also have responsibility for assessing the performance of ongoing monitoring across all depositary activities.
Responsibilities:
Oversight duties
Performs reviews of the calculation of the net asset value demonstrating basic knowledge of accounting principles for standalone and consolidation processes
Review the valuation process for assigned Funds and assess whether the process has been correctly implemented by the management company
Review the risk management process for assigned Funds and assess whether the compliance monitoring has been correctly implemented by the management company
Review the income distribution process for assigned Funds and assess whether the process has been correctly implemented by the management company
Cash Flow Monitoring
Execute and/or review daily cash flow monitoring activities by gathering information and reviewing exceptions
Manage the reporting/escalation of ‘significant’ and ‘inconsistent’ cash flow movements
Asset Safekeeping
Gather and review break reports pertaining to reconciliations of cash, fund accounting versus custody, assets held in safekeeping at sub-custodians, and other assets (e.g., derivatives, bank loans, real estate, and fund of funds) in order to identify breaks/exceptions that exceed risk-based tolerance thresholds
Gather and review documentation received in relation to recordkeeping and verification of ownership of real assets (real estate, private debt, private equity, fund of funds) and proactively monitor the status of those tasks and following up to obtain required client documentation / maintain logs of outstanding information
Document break/exception follow up and resolution
Communications
Identify areas of risk during control reviews or reporting review from other departments and escalate within the team significant issues, set direction/communicate proposed manner of resolution of audit issues and concerns that have a significant impact.
Qualifications:
2 years+ of relevant experience
BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
Knowledge and skills (general and technical)
Demonstrated Microsoft Office skills
Ability to identify, escalate and resolve a problem
Ability to communicate professionally through effective verbal and written skills
Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively
Organizational skills and detail-oriented
Ability to work in a team environment |
